Reports To: Building Principal
Purpose: Provide targeted math support to 9th and 10th grade GEAR UP students to strengthen math skills, improve academic performance, and help students remain on track with required coursework and credits
Qualifications:
- Certified teacher.
- Experience teaching math.
- Ability to work with students.
- Willingness to continue education as opportunities provided through the school.
- Ability to keep accurate records and daily student contact.
- Good communication skills.
- Must be patient, compassionate, and persistent.
- Fingerprinting and background check required.

Performance Responsibilities:
- Support students in successful engagement.
- Provide individual and small-group math tutoring and academic support.
- Reinforce classroom instruction and assist students with assignments and skill development.
- Coordinate with teachers, school staff, and the Student Achievement Specialist to identify students needing additional math support.
- Communicate with students, parents and staff in a variety of school settings.
- Supervise students in the classroom.
- Collect data and report student progress.
- Maintain accurate data collection records.
- Provide positive behavior management support.
- Adapt teaching methods to achieve student goals.
- Participate as a member of the education team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
- Salary: Curriculum Rate
- Hours: 5 hours per week; Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 3-4pm, & Wednesday 2-3pm
- Evaluation: Annually
