Reports To: Building Prinicpal
Job Goal: Create a classroom environment that implements district approved curriculum to ensure an equitable, engaging and positive learning experience for all students.
Required Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and possess a Washington state Teaching Certificate or obtain an Emergency Substitute Certificate
Performance Responsibilities:
- Maintain a positive learning environment and respond to the individual needs of students.
- Implement effective learning lessons in the absence of the regular instructor.
- Ensure that district policy is observed during all activities.
- Create a safe classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Keep all children in the classroom under supervision at all times.
- Be familiar with fire exits and fire drill procedures.
- Review notes for the day, take attendance and follow lesson plans of the teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Abide by state statutes, school board policie and regulations as outlined and provided in the Substitute Handbook and other District provided guidance.
- Report for duty early and remain on duty for the entire assignment, including the teacher's planning time.
- Leave detailed notes for the teacher on any issues experienced during the day.
- Other duties as assigned by prinicpal.
Terms of Employment: Daily services for the current school year.
