Reports To: Building Principal
Job Goal: Supports implementation of supportive mainstream and content-based instruction for multilingual learners. Assists with collecting, translating, and assembling educational materials and assessments needed in multilingual education programs. This stipend is based on grant funding and will be reevaluated annually.
Qualifications:
BA/BS degree and possess a Washington State Teaching Certificate with English Language Learner (ELL) endorsement.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists in coordinating assessments and collecting data on students whose dominant language is other than English.
- Assists principals in organizing instruction and schedules for students whose dominant language is other than English.
- Assists in the preparation of reports to state and federal agencies requesting information on multilingual programs.
- Supports paraprofessionals with instructional materials and tools for supporting multilingual students.
- Supports professional learning for instructional staff in implementing supportive mainstream and content-based instruction.
- Advocates for multilingual learners.
- Attends and contributes to Student Support Teams as needed.
- Supports and communicates with families of multilingual learners.
- Translates correspondence and materials as required.
- Meets quarterly with Superintendent and Multilingual Coordinator.
Terms of Employment:
- Pay: Based on per-diem rate
- Evaluation: Annually
- 1 position @ each building
